Bob Stanley, Tree Keepers Consulting Arborist, recently participated in Maryland Woodland Stewards Training Program in Sharpsburg, MD. This program is an educational program of the University of Maryland Extension and teaches enthusiastic individuals how to be good stewards of natural land and good advocates for forest and wildlife stewardship in their community.
Participants not only apply the principles they learn to their own properties but also actively encourage others to practice good forest stewardship using the principles of “Neighbor Helping Neighbor.” Participants agree to contribute at least 40 hours to outreach and education in the communities where they live. This includes volunteering for forestry and wildlife organizations, writing articles, and speaking to community groups.
Stanley is a Registered Consulting Arborist with the American Society of Consulting Arborists, he is also one of 1319 Certified Tree Risk Assessors worldwide, a licensed Maryland Tree Expert, and a Maryland Master Naturalist. He states, “I would like to share the benefits of Maryland Woodlands Stewards Program to local landowners, either individually or as a guest speaker at community organization meetings.”
